No matter whether you are alone or with friends or family, or whether it is summer or winter, spring or autumn, mountains have an indescribable appeal. Why not follow the call of the mountains?
The spectrum extends from hiking, via the Alpine climbing tour or the negotiation of vie ferrate, to the high, glaciated peaks in summer. And don’t forget the ski trips in winter! Or a snowshoe hike for non-skiers.
Already as a small boy I set my sights high. When I went hiking, no stone in front of me was safe and since most rocks towered over me, I was extremely proud of scaling such high summits. Weekends were reserved for the mountains. Initial comfortable hikes soon became too boring. I wanted something more exciting, which was also made possible for me. I climbed agilely in the Dolomites and "perforated" every powdery snow-covered slope at breakneck speed.
And nothing about that has changed to date. I still climb in the Dolomites, I plough through powdery snow-covered slopes in winter and I’m out and about on glaciers in the spring with skis and in the summer with crampons.
Now I am also professionally in the mountains. That does not diminish my passion and I am happy to have swapped the office with nature.
And if it works out, I also try to learn something more about the wide world outside of the Alps. Not just the mountains there, but also foreign people and cultures.
